On this beautiful section of the Wales Coast Path, we’ll leave the historic port town of Amlwch behind and follow the trail west along Anglesey’s dramatic north coast to the charming harbour village of Cemaes. This is a wonderfully varied stretch, combining industrial heritage, rugged cliffs, and sweeping sea views.
About half way through, we’ll pass the remains of the old brickworks at Porth Wen — a striking and atmospheric site tucked into a steep coastal cove. The turquoise pools, ruined kilns, and cliffside setting make this one of the most memorable spots on the Anglesey coast.
From here, we’ll continue along rocky headlands, hidden coves, and open clifftops, with the Irish Sea stretching out beside us and ever-changing coastal views. As we approach Cemaes, the landscape softens and the village comes into view, with its colourful houses, small harbour, and sandy beach — a welcoming finish to a spectacular walk.
