Overview
This is a linear walk of 8 miles approximately mostly along the River Eden. We leave the station by the path then turn right up the road until we reach the school then we turn right down to the railway and turn left and follow the path then turn right under the railway and turn left onto the road follow this road until we get to a right turn down to the river, we follow this path all the way to Wetheral passing Edenbrows woods (muddy & some boggy sections), Coathouse tower and Wetheral woods, we turn left onto a short stretch of road to the railway station.

This is the last section of the Settle to Carlisle walks as Wetheral to Carlisle is almost all road walking. Note also that the stations are on different railway lines and so single tickets need to be purchased for each leg of the journey.
