A leisurely 7.2 mile walk in the Borrowdale Valley along the banks of the River Derwent and through Johnny Wood. There is a short pull up through Johnny Wood but nothing too difficult. We then head over Folly Bridge to Stonethwaite and along both banks of Stonethwaite Beck before returning to the start point. The total ascent is approximately 778ft. The views of the surrounding hills and countryside are fabulous!
Refreshments at the Flock In are available to finish our day.
PLEASE NOTE START TIME OF 09:30 AS CAR PARK CAN GET VERY BUSY!
We park in the National Trust Car Park which has public toilets (donations for using the toilet welcomed). Some people may have spare NT Memberships to help with parking charges. [If you are paying then the small car park next door is cheaper].
