A leisurely walk through Arundel park. We will walk from Mill Rd car park - opposite the entrance to Arundel Castle through the town and head into Arundel park just past the Cathedral. Sticking to a man made path for the first mile or so we will eventually leave the park near the Black Rabbit pub and walk past Swanbourne lodge, returning to the car park. Given the time of year and the potential for mud a lot of this walk is deliberately on man made surfaces.
We will have one 10 to 15 minute break at a convenient point. Please bring something to drink and a snack / picnic. There are loos at Mill road car park and in the Black Rabbit pub.
It's pay to park in Mill road car park £3.50 up to 4 hours, £5 thereafter, but early birds might be able to nab a free space on Mill road.
Coming by train? Arundel railway station is a 10 minute walk from the start of the walk. Head off to the town by taking the route indicated by Castle Cabs in the station forecourt. As you enter the town, cross over the bridge past the Co-op supermarket and Mill road car park is on your right, opposite the entrance to the castle.
