A lovely, leisurely walk through the Warwickshire countryside and its quiet villages using field paths and tracks. We set off through Aston Cantlow Church and then follow the banks of the River Alne in an easterly direction. After a short section of road walking we follow footpaths behind the village of Great Alne. Our morning break will be at a recreation ground in Alne End. After passing through this village we double back along a disused railway line to re-join the Alne at Coffee Pot Wood. We then head south, crossing the river at the Great Alne Mills, and follow field paths towards Haselor and Walcote. Our picnic lunch will be near Walcote Church. We return along farm tracks and paths skirting Withycombe Wood before we join the Arden Way back to the start. There are 7 stiles and one short steep incline but it is mostly easy walking.
