We are the Kilmarnock & Loudoun Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
We will start from the Walkers/Clocktower car park at Auchincruive and follow various roads and tracks to Annbank and Gadgirth Bridge where we join the River Ayr Way. The path is well used and care must be taken when near the river bank and with exposed tree roots. Our morning tea break will be at the picnic tables at Annbank before continuing to Tarholm Bridge. This section has 50+ steps to climb. From Tarholm Bridge we continue to Oswald's Bridge stopping for lunch at Wallace's Seat. From Oswald's Bridge we will leave the River Ayr Way and pass Oswald Hall (Auchincruive House) and return to the cars.
Risks: we have a short road walk on a minor road, which can be busy, and two minor roads to cross. We are walking near the river and have lots of exposed tree roots and some muddy sections. Boots and walking poles would be helpful.
Meeting point is East Ayrshire Council Headquarters, 95 London Road, Kilmarnock KA3 7BU. Meet at 08.45 to arrange car sharing and leave prompt at 09.00.
