A walk through rolling north Essex countryside starting from Audley End train station. The countryside is open, undulating and wooded in places, with very little road walking. We will walk from the village of Wendens Ambo going via Arkesden, Wicken Bonhunt and Newport* then back to Audley End station.
*There is the option of returning to Audley End or Cambridge by train from Newport for those wanting an 8 mile walk, while the complete circular is 10 miles.
Bring food & drink for mid-morning and lunch breaks.
The 09:48 train from Cambridge (stops at Whittlesford Parkway at 09:57) arrives at Audley End at 10:05. Return trains from Audley End are at 02, 30 and 50 minutes past the hour. *Note: trains from Newport to Audley End and Cambridge are only hourly, at 27 minutes past the hour, for those choosing the 8 mile option.
