A walk of two halves. In the morning we walk from the village uphill to Meenfield Wood and along to Castle Farm Road. We turn onto the road for a short distance then left onto Cockerhurst Road before taking footpath to Parkgate Farm. From hereon the walk is more leisurely as we walk along the ridge before descending near to Eagle Heights and eventually into Eynsford. There are some lovely views along the way. Ascent in the morning is 600ft. Lunch is at The Malt Shovel or picnic by the river Darent. In the afternoon we follow the Darent Valley Path back to Shoreham. This section is fairly flat as we follow the river, say 170ft,
Park considerately along Station Road the walk will commence by going through the churchyard.
