This 7-mile walk around the Warwickshire countryside, 5 miles southeast of Solihull, mainly flat taking in lanes, fields and canal tow paths.
The walk starts from the car park of Baddesley Clinton, owned by the National Trust, with tantalising glimpses of the house as we make our way across the fields out towards the canal.
We walk along two canals, the Grand Union and the Stratford upon Avon canal, which are joined by the Lapworth Link, with plenty of bridges, locks and canal side cottages along the way.
Leaving the canal, we head along a country lane before re-joining the Grand Union canal, then heading through fields, skirting Hay Wood. We return via the Grade II*-listed St Michael's Church, adjacent to Baddesley Clinton, with many connections to the families who have lived in the house.
If you are a member, bring along your NT card so you can visit this 500-year-old moated manor house after the walk, and use the café/toilets. Entrance for the day without membership is £17.
