Baker Way is a link between beautiful Delamere Forest with pretty Chester City.
We will meet up at the Delamere Forest Cafe where our walk will start. We will soon be joining up with the Sandstone Trail for several hundred metres and then proceed up directly to the edge of the Delamere Forest by passing through some paths.
We will then follow some further paths going through Brine's Brow. Ashton, nearby St. John the Evangelist's Church, Tarvin, Hockenhull Platts (known as Roman Bridges), Cotton Cross, Cotton Edmunds, Brown Heath, Shropshire Union Canal and Christleton.
There are some viewable points along The Baker Way, such as Beeston Castle and Peckforton Castle which can be seen from the fields surrounding Christleton and Brown Heath and Ashton.
We will complete our walk in Chester City on the Shropshire Union Canal nearby Chester Railway Station.
The original route was devised by members of the Mid Cheshire Footpaths Society and commemorates the life and work of Jack Baker, a former footpaths officer.
