Starting from Hayfield, we ascend the Snake path and skirt round Kinder Reservoir. We then ascend William Clough followed by a steep ascent up to Kinder to pick up part of the Pennine Way. We pass Kinder Low (633m) and Edale rocks then proceed to Brown Knoll. We then have another ascent up to South Head (494m) and a final ascent up to Mount Famine (473m) before returning to Hayfield on part of the Pennine Bridleway.
Please note this is a strenous walk as there is a total ascent of 2400ft and undulating terrain.

Meet on Kinder Road in Hayfield at the bottom of the Snake Path. There is free parking along Kinder Road and a pay and display car park on Kinder Road. Please allow time to walk up the Road to the start point for a 9.30am start if you decide to park on the car park.
