Overview

From Barlaston village green car park we plan to take a low level route through Barlaston Downs and then walk south-westwards along Wash Dale Lane to join the towpath of the Trent and Mersey Canal at Bridge 98. The intended route continues northwards along the canal towpath with a coffee stop at Turnover Bridge (100) and past the Plume of Feathers PH at Bridge 103 before leaving the canal at Oldroad Bridge (104) and walking back to the start point through the Wedgwood estate past Wedgwood Cricket Club, St John’s Church and the redbrick Barlaston Hall using lanes and a field path. There are only two stiles, but there may be some muddy sections and particular care is required on the road sections.
