Overview

Hilly walking at the eastern extremities of the Chilterns combined with long stretches of open farmland and woodland.  We start by the recreation field in Barton, with ascents to the high plateau and Galley Hill, with good views to the SW. Turning West,  we cross the A6 and proceed through open fields until we reach the lunch stop at Sundon common (seats), opposite the Red Lion pub. Bring a picnic lunch.

We then make for the spectacular views from Sharpenhoe Clappers before dropping down back to Barton.

Optional car share from Barnet, Victors Way/Moxon Street car park, EN5 5TR, leaving at 9:00 (32 miles).
