This is listed by Pembrokeshire Coast National Park as "Easy to moderate, with 1 mile of quiet lanes, woodland tracks and minor road, fields and livestock, woodland, can be muddy in places."
Neither Burton Mountain, nor Williamston Mountain are in excess of 55 metres (180ft). Beyond Williamston Farm, most of the route is through woodlands. a mixture of broadleaf treees and conifers that run alongside the Cleddau as far as Port Lion. The path goes past Benton Castle with a tower dating back to the 13th Century, Like several other castles built to defend the Daugleddau waterway, it has become a fortified and now private dwelling. It was in fact left as a ruin after the 17th century Civil War and was rebuilt in the 1930s.
Unfortunately, this walk is not suitable for dogs because of the terrain and livestock.
