This walk crosses a gently rolling landscape under big Suffolk skies (surprisingly, blue on both the days of the recces!). We will head towards Hitcham and then on to Kettlebaston, where we will have our apple stop, and then continue on to Bildeston, past the the church and through the village back to the car park. Most of the walk is on quiet lanes and field edge paths, with one lengthy cross-field stretch.
It will be muddy after all the recent rain, and some field edges were quite wet on the recce. Mud on the cross-field stretch is quite sticky but fairly compacted (path is well-used). 1 stile. Livestock in fields.
At time of writing there are temporary traffic lights for road works at Hintlesham on the A1071 which are causing delays in both directions.
