Join me to explore a quiet slice of South Shropshire and a selection of strange placenames, from the quirky but lovely town of Bishop's Castle.
We'll head south from the market town of Bishop's Castle via Colebatch and a series of quiet footpaths to the little hamlet of Brockton, with it's tiny chapel. We'll then head via the wooded edge of Acton Bank and then back up the hill to Pant Edward for *hopefully* superb views back over out route and across a lovely bit of South Shropshire to Bury Ditches. We'll then follow some forestry tracks to the fantastically named "Hell Hole" giving us some great views again of South Shropshire/ Then on to Goathouse Dingle with a gentle descent along a minor road, back along the Shropshire Way and a triumphant return to one of the fine pubs of BC.
A varied walk along forestry tracks, crossing fields and some short sections along minor roads - some ascent but manageable with hopefully rewarding views!
