The walk begins with a steep climb to the first pile of stones, taken at a very steady pace. We continue to Bal Mawr (607m) and then north along the ridge to Blacksmith’s Anvil. Brilliant views in fine weather. We then descend (includes a steep stony section) to Capel-y-ffin. Our return to Llanthony follows the valley, on footpaths and lanes.
