We ascend from Llanthony Priory up a fairly steep slope to Offa's Dyke and head along the Dyke with a fab view across to the Cats Back (Black Hill) before descending to Capel y Ffyn. From here we will then ascend to the ridge on the opposite side of the valley with great views to the West over the Grwyne Fawr valley and Waun Fach. We are now on the Cambrian Way heading South to Bal Mawr Mountain. Our walk is almost over, we just have to descend carefully back to Llanthony. In places this is a tricky descent and will need focus.  Nothing onerous. Toilets at the start point, free parking and a pub the Half Moon  just a couple of minutes down the road. What could be better.  Please bring plenty of liquid and a packed lunch. This walk is weather dependent so  be sure to stay in touch with leader Rod. The alternative date is Friday 31st October.
