This 12 ish mile walk will start in the Cotswold village of Blockley, and it is one of my favourite Cotswold walks. Blockley is a village parish that had 12 mills at the time of the Doomsday Book and became wealthy from the wool trade and during 18C/ 19C from the use of its mills for silk throwing.
From Blockley We head up towards the edges of the Cotswold high wold plateau and the first of limestone ‘dry valleys’ around Hinchwick and some woodland for lunch.
Then the 2nd ‘dry valley’ and return via Longborough / Sezincote House / Bourton on the Hill and the Edges of the Batsford Estate.
Please be ready for a 10.30am start from the Jubilee Hall.
Please bring packed lunch and plenty to drink.
Most of the walk is on higher ground but is still muddy in places. So gaiters, poles and walking boots are recommended.
There are public toilets available at the Blockley Cafe, however this is 10 minutes walk away from the Jubilee Hall start point. So arrive early if you want to use them.
Dogs on short leads welcome.
We encourage car sharing but for personal safety reasons we cannot arrange this.
