Starting from a northern edge of Witney, this 11 mile walk heads towards Combe and crosses gently undulating low level countryside. We pass through New Yatt and skirt past North Leigh. If the River Evenlode flood plain is not waterlogged we will reach Combe, and briefly walk beside the Evenlode. On the return trip we touch on Wychwood Way, and reach Witney via Poffley End.
Please bring a packed lunch and plenty to drink. This can be a muddy and watery walk so good boots are essential and gaiters are recommended. There are a number of styles.
Dogs on short leads welcome.
No toilets near starting point - the nearest public toilets are 8 minutes drive away in Witney town centre in the corner of the car park, beside ‘Langdale Gate’ (OX28 6FG)
We encourage car sharing but for personal safety reasons we cannot arrange this.
Nearest train station is Hanborough, and a bus ride to bus stop near by the starting point. See below for nearest parking as this is very limited at starting point.
