Overview

Leaving the Pocket Park and Ride car park at the Shepherds Pub and Restaurant, we walk to the Grantham Canal. Following the canal towpath and Bassingfield Lane we head towards Gamston. From there our route follows Regatta Way to the Holme Pierrepont Country Park and National Watersports Centre alongside the road. Leaving the rowing lake, we head toward Blotts Country Club and back to the starting point. The walk is entirely on made-up footpaths. There is some road walking on a quiet lane and footpaths. We need to cross the A52 twice at controlled crossings and the Gamston by-pass once, also at a controlled crossing.
