An undulating walk on good paths and woodland tracks. Steps but no stiles or livestock expected. We walk from a busy shopping and residential area into two woods with a variety of wildflowers. The route takes us past Kettlethorpe Hall (Grade 1 listed Georgian building) along a beck to Newmillerdam Country Park. After the Bluebell Glade you have a choice to make: walk around the Lake and retrace the outward route (5 miles) or continuing into Seckar Woods (SSSI site) and Newmillerdam Arboretum and back along the beck (7 miles). Early lunch at Lawns Dike picnic tables in Newmillerdam. Drink stops as and when needed.
Toilets near the start in Asda and at entrance/exit of Newmillerdam Country Park (free).
Optional visit to The Star Inn at the end of the walk.
