Overview

Hopefully we will enjoy the bluebells in Lining Wood and Wigpool Common which can at this time of year be abundant. Haze permitting, we should get some good views of May Hill and the Severn Estuary. We'll also explore Wigpool Nature Reserve.

There may be a little mud here and there, and a few steps to take through a tiny stream. Some steady ascents and descents, no real stiles.

Meet in the car park by Mitcheldean Community Centre (map pinpoints entrance). On the B4224 through Mitcheldean, look out for the blue sign for Mitcheldean Playing Fields and Community Centre and take the narrow entrance it points towards (to the west of the road). Google Maps recognises The Woodlands, Townsend, Mitcheldean GL17 0BE - one of the houses next to the car park entrance. The 33 bus from Hereford to Gloucester stops nearby.
