Overview

From the wide open spaces of the Bolehills in Crookes we'll descend into Rivelin Valley. We'll walk along the river for a while, before ascending via Coppice Lane, then over Clough Fields back to the start.

NOTE: It's a steep descent to Rivelin - there is a handrail to the steepest section. The long uphill stretch back to the beginning is more gradual. There's a bit of road walking; there may be mud in parts. (Click on the small graphic to see a map of the route and elevation profile.)

Catch the no. 52 bus at 9.54 from Church St/High St HS4 to Northfield Rd/Netherfield Rd. The walk starts at 10.15 from this bus stop, which is past the Punchbowl pub on the right going out of town, and nearly opposite a big pink St Luke's charity shop.

Public WC 1.3 miles into the walk.

No dogs please.
