Get your kit on and tie up your boot laces for this interesting and varied coast, countryside and city walk. You'll be venturing into areas which will be new to many of you and walking on footpaths untrodden by Bootleggers before you. (At least in the recent past I've been told!)
We start from the National Trust car park at Wembury Beach and walk to the outskirts of Plymouth on the SWCP, circling around Mount Batten, through the Turnchapel area and past Hooe Lake and Radford Lake. Turning inland the walk links up to the Erm Plym trail which continues via a series of paths through woodlands and fields. Eventually the trail emerges at the estuary of the River Yealm and returns the short distance to our start point following the SWCP. There are loads of cafes en route. The start time is a little earlier than normal to ensure that we finish in the daylight on this fairly long walk. If necessary there may be some route adjustments on the day to reduce the distance.
