We are the Chester-le-Street Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.

This is a moderate circular route of 5.5 miles. We set out from the Brandon Co-Op car park and head uphill, through the estate, towards Brandon Lane. We turn left to Brandon Hall, head SW to Quarryhill Cottages and then E to Littlewhite Farm. The route turns S to meet the Brandon to Bishop Auckland Railway Path and then NW, up Scripton Gill. We head through woodland, until we reach open countryside, with lovely views. Finally, we head back towards Brandon Hall and a steady walk back to the car park.
Please note: Gaiters and walking poles are recommended as there are some slippery and muddy sections.
Directions from Chester le Street:-
Follow A167 S to Nevilles Cross Traffic Lights: Turn R onto the A690 W and follow this through Langley Moor and Meadowfield; at the very end of Meadowfield, turn R onto Sawmills Lane, for Brandon; after a short distance, turn R onto Lowlands Road and look out for the Co-op Food Store on your left: turn L for the carpark, which is behind the store.
