This circular walk starts at St Marys Church, Fleece Lane in Braughing, an ancient village in rural East Hertfordshire. There are two pubs in the village – the Golden Fleece and the Axe and Compass. This walk is mostly on gentle tracks and paths with some ploughed fields so may be muddy especially along Braughing Bourne near the end of the walk, if we have had rain.
We will wander through peaceful woods, gentle hills, and past farms and cottages. The walk is ideal for dogs as no livestock and lots of open fields. Three great long-distance paths cross the countryside near Braughing -Greenwich Meridian Trail, the Harcamlow Way and the Hertfordshire Way.
