Overview

***This is a "Save the Date" holding entry - please check back nearer the time for further details once I have recce'd ***

A bit of an experiment - a breakfast (or more accurately given the timing, brunch) ramble....

Meet at Brighstone village (free) car park (and toilets). The start time is 10.00am, to allow for the timing of the first No 12 bus of the day arriving from Newport which arrives at Brighstone Three Bishops pub at 09.52. The car park is just around the corner from the bus-stop, down Warnes Lane.

The plan is to do a short circular walk (route yet to be decided) until 11.30am when we will have breakfast/brunch at the Tandem tea rooms in Brighstone Village (breakfast served till 12.30 on a Sunday). Then after eating, as this will have been a fairly short walk thus far (timings dictated by a combination of bus timetable and the Tandem's breakfast serving hours), a second circular walk (also yet to be decided) for those who wish - making it into a "figure-of-eight" walk overall.

Precise routes yet to be recce'd. but guessing probably no more than 3-ish miles for the first loop due to the above timings, and then maybe 3-4 miles for the second loop, making overall walk length 6-7 miles (but obviously the option just to do one section or t'other). Will look to do any steeper section before we eat! Check back nearer the time for more info on walk and distances.

It would be really helpful if you could please let me know (text or whatsapp 07564-811690, or email serenaheyes@hotmail.co.uk ) if you are planning to join us and to eat (or drink), so that both as a matter of courtesy to the Tandem, and to ensure our group can get seats, I can book a table beforehand for at least an approx number of people.

We'd ask you to make sure that we have ready access to this, if needed.

Some people may wish to carry an ICE (in case of emergency) card. We have Ramblers cards for this purpose. Do discuss this subject with your walk leader if it is of interest.
