A relaxed, virtually flat, circular walk of roughly five miles from Fort Victoria, going up one side of the river and down the other. There's an old church, swans, a short diversion into Mill Copse and then back to Fort Victoria for a picnic lunch by the sea - bring your own, or bring something to share. There is also a choice of cafes at Fort Victoria if required.
Free parking and loos at Fort Victoria.
The walk itself is estimated to finish back at Fort Victoria at approx 12.30pm - then allowing a further say hour till 1.30pm for picnic, weather permitting, and stated timings on programme are based on that. However obviously that timing is totally down to individual preference should you wish to linger longer, shorter, or not at all !
(In the event of bad weather we may need to reschedule as a rainy picnic isn't much fun. So please keep an eye for any amendment/cancellation notices).

New walkers welcome
If you are new to the Ramblers you can just turn up for any of our walks, unless we specify otherwise. We invite you to come along for three walks as a non-member.
Emergencies
It's very rare that an emergency occurs, but we may need info about
- Any health concerns that you have
- Any emergency contact information
We'd ask you to make sure that we have ready access to this, if needed.
Some people may wish to carry an ICE (in case of emergency) card. We have Ramblers cards for this purpose. Do discuss this subject with your walk leader if it is of interest.
