Overview

We ascend the side of the hill from Llynhellyn and follow bridle paths around Gwaunceste Hill. We then join the byway heading north, and then follow a small road back to the car park.

The views are stunning. It is likely to be very muddy in places and there are 3 streams to cross though I did manage to keep my feet dry on the recce. One descent is quite muddy and stony, so poles are very helpful.

There is a small parking area near the lake on the south side of the A481 just past the FForest Inn. Parking is limited so please car share where possible.
