9:40 am 98 bus from Arundel Gate (AG123) arrives at Totley Brook Road terminus at 10:10. The route is mainly on moorland and woodland paths and tracks, many of which are either muddy or stoney (and in some cases both). Steadily uphill from Avenue Farm to Houndkirk Moor and from Packhorse Bridge to Over Owler Tor, but no severe ascents. Walkers can choose to end walk at Fox House (7 miles) for bus into Sheffield. No dogs please - moorland cattle grazing.
