A ride on the Daffodil Line bus (232) to Gorsley will facilitate a linear walk back to either Weston under Penyard or Ross on Wye. The route climbs to Linton Ridge, visiting the historic church with an ancient yew tree before descending to Weston under Penyard. This part of the walk is 5 miles and ascends 518ft.
Those wishing to walk further have the opportunity to eat their lunch in the churchyard in Weston before returning over Penyard Hill to Ross-on-Wye.

It is suggested that the shorter walk is best facilitated by driving to Weston under Penyard prior to the walk, parking in the church car park off School Lane (HR9 7PA ///slumped.quieter.elsewhere) and catching the 33 bus at 9.28 from the bus stop across the A40 from the Weston Cross (///divisions.intent.sheds).
