A linear walk, with bus ride, in the Black Mountains.
We will assemble in the large free car park in Talgarth High Street at 09.00hrs and take a short walk to the bus stop in Bronllys Road to meet the 09.26hrs T14 bus to Hay-on-Wye (sorry, Herefordshire Concessionary Bus Passes are not valid).
After the excitement of the bus ride, we will then take the steep ascent from Hay-on-Wye following Offa's Dyke Path onto Hay Bluff with a morning break on the way. Weather permitting, of course, there will then be panoramic views of the National Park, the Wye Valley and westwards into Wales as we ascend Twmpa and Rhos Dirion with a lunch break on the way. The sometimes steep descent back into Talgarth is via Rhos Fach Common and very quiet roads.
Given the bus travel, the group will be limited to 15 walkers.
Sorry, no dogs please.
Please bring plenty of warm clothing, a packed lunch and refreshments.
For walkers wishing to car share, please plan to leave Wilton Road car park at 07.45 hours latest.
