This fine Spa Town in Derbyshire is famous for the Buxton Crescent and the Pavillion Gardens. We aim to park in the Sylvan Coach Park by the railway viaduct. Should you wish to join one of today's walks then book early, as this is a popular destination that we have not visited for some time.
Three walks will be available with details circulated on the coach. They will range from easy to strenuous depending on the walk selected.
A Wall Leader - Clare Vattev - 11 miles and 1840ft of ascent, walking from Whaley Bridge to Buxton via Windgather Rocks. Starting with a along the canal into Whaley Bridge, followed by a brief ascent along to Toddbrook Reservoir, then on to Taxal Moor Road and the start of the main ascent across Taxal Moor and Windgather Rooks. Then it's on to Plm Chair, down to Errwood Reservoir. A shoer steep climb to Bunsal Cob, followed a long easy climb onto the dismanteled railway and downhill into Buxton.
