The first part of the walk heads down through fields to the Village of Cwmdu. On a good day splendid views across the Rhiangoll Valley towards Crickhowell. and Tretower Castle. After passing through Cwmdu village on to the Beacons Way for a short distance and then up on to open ground rising eventually to the summit of Mynydd Lllangorse. Then back on open paths down towards Bwlch with fine views of pen y fan, Llangors Lake and the central Beacons.

Can be wet/muddy in places with some steep paths, so boots and poles recommended.
Livestock in fields so no dogs other than assistance dogs

We will group here for 10:00 before car sharing in convoy to Bwch (limited parking), to start walking at 10:30am. Layby on A40, approx. 6 miles past Sennybridge if coming from Llandovery, marked by brown picnic site/toilet sign to left. Just beyond 400yds is 50mph speed restriction and sign announcing Llanspyddid, so you've overshot! Additionally, car sharing from Llandeilo rail station car park (SA19 6LE) at 9:00.
Small layby on right side mountain road where path crosses. On A40 through Bwlch from Brecon, take left hand fork into Tremynfa Road just past Star Bunkhouse. Layby is 180yds past cattle grid.
