Cancelled due to poor weather conditions.
This is a mainly flat simple circular walk around the parc Slip Reserve and Bedford Park to enjoy both the successful reclamation of the former colliery site represented now by the nature reserve but also discovering part of the rich heritage in South Wales from the Industrial Revolution. We pass the site of the former Cefn Cribwr ironworks, part of the old railway route leading down to Porthcawl from the Maesteg line, as well as the memorial to miners killed in the terrible accident in 1892.
Part of the walk uses a community tarmac route, otherwise rough gravel and earth paths. This is reclaimed land from the former Parc Slip Colliery, and quarry site and parts of it will be wet and muddy.
