Overview

Although the walk starts at a pub, the availability of food is limited.  I would advise you to bring a packed lunch.

Yet another surprise from the CAPITAL RING.  This walk starts at the end of the previous walk on the River Thames, along and over the river, up the Grand Union Canal and onto the River Brent.  We only leave the water near the end, where we start a hardly noticable climb up to Greenford.

Sites include

Syon Park, Wharncliffe Viaduct, built in 1838 by Isambard Kingdom Brunel, carrying trains westward, and Perivale Park

Greenford Station is serviced by a shuttle train service which takes you to West Ealing. From there the Elizabeth Line took us to Farringdon, Thameslink took us to London Bridge, where we caught a fast train to Orpington. It worked very smoothly, taking us to Orpington Station in one hour and 15 minutes. I recommend the Direction finder in Google Maps. Don't forget to change it to public transport.
