We start where we left the last walk, that is Greenford Railway Station. This is the furthest we get from Bromley Borough: all future journeys are shorter. It might be our 6th section, but is the 9th section of the official TFL program. There are only three section after this one to finish the circle.
We first pass through Paradise Fields Wetlands. There are beavers here, but they were not around on the recce. Immediatly after passing through the second set of gates we turn left to the Grand Union Canal and walk along the tow path for 2km. We leave the canal and follow the signs to Horsenden Hill. (The CAPITAL RING takes a stepped path uphill where we are encouraged to take a moment to enjoy one of London's finest natural viewpoints. Unfortuately they forgot to keep the trees under control. There was only one view over a mediocre industrial estate.) We leave the official route and keep to the bottom of the hill, which shortens the route and saves the climb. There will be other fine views coming.
Back on the official path we follow the route towards Sudbury and Harrow on the Hill and the spectacular grounds and buildings of Harrow School. We make our way to Northwick Park and South Preston station, the official end of Section 9 and the start of section 10. We continue on to Preston Road station and Fryent Country Park and Barn Hill Open Space (a climb worth making). We continue on the route until we leave Fryent Country Park.
Shortly after leaving the park we also leave the CAPITAL RING path and continue down the road to Wembley Park Station. This diversion enables the walk to remain at 10 miles and leave another 3 sections of the RING of a similar length to finish over the Autumn and Winter.
