Overview

A circular walk through spectacular countryside on the quieter side of the Shropshire Hills. From the attractive village of Cardington with it's 12th century church we traverse the ridge of the Wilderness with views of The Lawley and Caer Caradoc before ascending Willstone Hill at a leisurely pace to reach the Battlestones, a rugged outcrop of rocks from which there are magnificent views. With luck, the weather will be with us and with more luck we may see some Red Kites soaring over the landscape. There will be stops for coffee and lunch.

Footpaths, tracks and open country. Some steep sections and parts may be muddy. Boots, gaiters and walking pole (s) advised.

This is Walk 36 in '20 More Walks around Shrewsbury' by Shrewsbury Ramblers.
