A pleasant and interesting walk from the National Museum of Rural Life. Initially following the trail from the museum towards Wester Kittochside, an NTS run working farm, then on a minor road to the historic conservation village of Carmunnoch. Heading north from the village centre the route takes a path which climbs up Cathkin Braes to the historic site of Queen Mary's Seat with panoramic views to the north of Glasgow. On leaving the Country Park the route follows minor roads back to the museum and a welcome cup of tea at the cafe.
Paths within Cathkin Braes Country Park can be muddy and boots are essential.
There are toilets at the Museum which are accessible at the beginning and end of the walk.
