New Route
A pleasant walk from the ferry terminal on Cumbrae via the inner road to Millport and onwards following a circular route to Fintry Bay. Return to ferry terminal by bus from Millport. The quiet inner road climbs to a trig point with panoramic views of Largs, Fairlie and the North Ayrshire Hills. Descent to Millport passes the Cathedral of the Isles. A minor road to the north of the town joins the Fintry Bay Walk, a scenic route with good views of Bute, Inverkip and Dunoon. Return to Millport via part of the coastal path and stop for a welcome cup of tea before taking the bus back to the ferry. A moderate walk, Eastwood Ramblers grading C+.
Part of the route is on farm tracks and woodland paths which can be muddy. Boots are essential and gaiters recommended.
Please remember to bring bus pass if you have one.

Meet at ferry terminal at 10am for 10.15am ferry to Cumbrae. Parking in Largs at: Brooksby Medical and Resource Centre, 31 Brisbane Road, Largs KA30 8LH (NS202599). No charge. Alternative travel by train from Glasgow Central 8.45am train arrive Largs 9.49am. Walk from Largs station to ferry terminal 10mins.
