This is a new walk for me but some of you might have walked these paths before. It’s a shortish walk starting in the car park of the old Carriden Parish Church — which is no longer in use.
We will stroll through the woods, walk along the edge of “Bo’ness Beach” before heading back into the woodland. There is a bit of a slope/ climb up to Muirhouses for a wander around there. Great views of the river and the Fife countryside. Across to the Drum Estate and down nice grassy paths to take us back past the doocot. Some pavement and path walking and we end up at the riverside again and follow this path back to the car park.
Not a long or difficult walk and it will be taken at a leisurely pace as no one is in a race, but I am hoping it’s somewhere a bit different but pretty local.
Great views on a good day. Some nice grassy paths, some paths through wooded areas which means tree roots, some tarmac paths and stonier paths. Nothing difficult.
No toilets at the start just trees.
