We head through Castleford to Queen's Mill and cross the River Aire by the footbridge.  We continue along riverside paths to Allerton Bywater.  Leaving the river we head to Methley Junction via streets and fields.  We join the Castleford Greenway (disused railway) and follow this to Cutskye - this section is mostly uphill.  The return to the start point is via streets and parks.

https://whatpub.com/pubs/WAK/000137/station-castleford  Although there is a pub next to the train station, I will not be going there after the walk.  Instead, about a 10 minute walk away is Queen's Mill, which is where there is a bottle shop that also has some beers on tap (this closes at 5.00pm on a Sunday).  A couple of minutes before Queen's Mill is a Wetherspoons pub.

https://www.axisweb.org/p/timothyleonardshutter/workset/90218-the-core-of-castleford/ Behind the bus station is a piece of public art. It is a large column. There are some benches beside it. This is where we will meet. The train station is a short walk from here. If you are driving, you will pass this column once you have turned onto Booth Street (a one way street, with free street parking on a Sunday, the car park off Booth Street is also free on a Sunday).
