An exploration and short hillwalk into the hills above the River Tay, from the historic and delightful village of Abernethy. The route takes woodland paths and tracks, with a couple of steep sections and some rough ground. There are excellent views across the Firth of Tay and the North Fife and Sidlaw Hills, and to the Highlands.
Expect some muddy sections, tree roots and some rough vegetation. There is one minor road crossing on the way out and again on the return route. OS map: 58 . . . . Local grade: B, strenuous.
