Tinto is a fine, isolated hill, at 711m/2300 feet, on the edge of the Southern Uplands. It has tremendous views over the Clyde Valley and across Central Scotland and provides a relatively easy hillwalk on a good day.
OS map: 72 . . . . Local grade: B . . . . . . . . . This is a hillwalk so appropriate boots/shoes and hill gear should be worn/available. The ascent and return route is straightforward on a wide track, with moderately steep sections. The hill is of course high and exposed and could have muddy sections. . . Registered assistance dogs only. . . Not suitable for children.
