Starting in Castleton, a varied linear walk through green belt areas (some under threat) including an ascent of Tandle Hill, ending at Shaw and Crompton Tram stop. The walk is a mix of urban and (for now) semi-rural, the terrain varied including canal towpath, field paths, woodland, parks and very limited suburban street road walking. Total ascent is 730ft/223m, mostly the short ascent of Tandle Hill (222m/728ft) and Shaw Side, where we touch the 215m contour (705ft).
