We start from the village green under the ‘Chalfont St Giles’ sign and then follow the Chiltern Way towards Amersham, passing Mill Farm, before going uphill (up 52m over 0.8km) to the west with some fine views. Passing Hill Farm House, and skirting Hodgemoor Wood and Oakland Park golf club, before descending back into the Misbourne valley to reach the outskirts of Chalfont St Peter. We then return to Chalfont St Giles following close to the River Misbourne. The walk will end at back at the village green by the High Street.

Milton’s Cottage museum– The poet, John Milton, came to Chalfont St Giles in 1665 to escape the Great Plague and to complete his epic masterpiece ‘Lost Paradise’. The museum is open from 14:00 (entrance fee £7, concessions £6).
Additional Information:
Please bring water and snacks and something damp proof to sit on. Bring comfortable walking boots. There are brambles close to the path in places so you may prefer to wear trousers. Some of the paths may be muddy if there has been recent rain.
The route goes close to farms and across / adjacent to a golf course, so any dogs will need to be kept on a lead.
There are several gates to pass through and at least one stile.
