Overview

Starting at the Chappel & Wakes Colne Station, home of the railway museum, we meander up towards beautiful Bures.  After Bures we pick up the St. Edmund way, cross into Suffolk and carry on to Sudbury Station.

This is a 13 mile linear walk, there are regular trains from Sudbury Station.  We pass through Bures where we will stop for a picnic.

There is posibility of an early get out at Bures (after 6 miles) - by train back to Chappel and then onto  Marks Tey.

Strenuous

Bring a picnic lunch and stout waterproof shoes, it will be muddy.  The walk gets hilly as we move into Suffolk.

I would recommend bringing a head torch as it may be approaching dusk towards Sudbury.

There are regular trains from Marks Tey to both Chappel and Sudbury.  Change at Marks Tey from Chelmsford or Colchester direction.

I will be on the train from Sudbury arriving at Bures at 10:22
