Overview

The walk begins from the Lower Wyndcliff Wood Car Park on the east side of the A466 halfway between Chepstow and Tintern. We walk north through woodland before descending into Tintern village where we pass the ruined abbey (possible coffee stop) and cross the river Wye to its left bank. We continue downstream on a long easy disused railway track before ascending a valley alongside a disused quarry to join a section of the Offer’s Dyke Path through Woodcroft (possible lunch stop) and on to Chepstow. The final leg of the walk undulates up the right bank and back to Wyndcliff Woods.

Coffee & lunch stops. Less than 5 stiles.
