Great views of the capital, wartime defences and a temple folly are just a few of the delights of this surprisingly rural stroll towards London town. We also take in much of Epping Forest, Good Queen Bess's hunting lodge and a disused boating lake before reaching Walthamstow with its ancient village. A longish walk at a good pace with an earlyish finish.
Pub at the end with refreshment options en route. Bring a packed lunch.
